DISTRICT ATTENDANCE POLICY
District Student Handbook.
If a student is absent from school, a parent or guardian must call the school to report the absence. When the student returns to school, they must present a written note from the parent, guardian, or doctor explaining why they were absent. Failure to turn in a note will result in the absence being recorded as unexcused.
TARDIES TO SCHOOL OR CLASS
Students are expected to be at school, in class, and in their seat at 7:30 a.m. If a student is late to school, they are to report to the Attendance Office to sign-in and receive an admit slip. If a student is late to class, they MUST have a written note from a teacher or administrator. Each teacher will keep a record of students who are tardy to class. Unexcused and excessive tardiness to school will result in notification with the truancy officer.
Students may be checked out by a parent or guardian through the Attendance Office if they need to leave school early. Appointments with the doctor or dentist should be scheduled for after school, if at all possible, so students can avoid missing valuable instructional time.
