Families living in Bowling Green/Warren County but outside the boundaries of the Bowling Green City School District may apply for their children to attend Bowling Green Schools as tuition-paying non-resident students. An agreement between Warren County Public Schools and Bowling Green City Schools allows per child state funding to transfer from the district of residence to the district of enrollment. Families wishing to enroll for the 2017-18 school year must apply by April 15, 2017. Up to 690 non-resident students will be admitted per the agreement.

The nonresident student agreement, in effect until June 30, 2030, establishes the number of students residing in Warren County who may attend BGISD and be counted in BGISD’s average daily attendance for state funding purposes.
All new nonresident students desiring to attend BGISD must complete an online application, including siblings of currently enrolled WCPS resident students attending BGISD. (Siblings are defined as brothers/sisters, half-brothers/sisters, step-brothers/sisters, adopted brothers/sisters and foster children residing in the same household as the WCPS resident student currently enrolled in BGISD.)
Priority for continuing to attend BGISD and being newly admitted to attend BGISD, shall be in the following order:
Nonresident students currently attending BGISD whose status has not changed as of April 15 of the then current school year;
Students currently attending BGISD who become WCPS resident students due to a change in status on or before April 15 of the then current school year;
Siblings of currently enrolled nonresident students who apply for admission by April 15 preceding the school year in which they desire to enroll;
Admission of the remaining nonresident students shall be based on the following process:
60% of the remaining open positions shall be filled with incoming kindergarten applicants in order of the date applications are received who apply by April 15; and
40% of the remaining open positions shall be filled by students in grades K through 12 through random selection from all applicants who apply by April 15. Siblings of any student selected under this process shall also be permitted to attend BGISD.
Families with applications on file will be notified of the drawing results. Those selected for new admission will be provided enrollment information, and students not initially selected will learn their position on the waiting list. Families with children selected will be required to pay a non-refundable $100 deposit per child to secure their position as one of 690 Warren County resident students attending BGISD next year. The deposit will be credited toward total tuition payment.
Applicants not selected must reapply in subsequent years.
Students not selected through the process may pay tuition which includes the state funding amount plus fees to attend BGISD. However, students paying tuition may not be considered resident students for future year priority and must continue to pay tuition each year unless selected by the process.
