Bowling Green High School Principal Kyle McGraw has worked with members of the Class of 2021 to plan and adapt spring activities within COVID-19 guidelines. After discussing options for their upcoming Commencement, the Class of 2021 prefers to graduate together, in one ceremony, with limited attendance capacity.
The BGHS Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremony will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the BGHS Arena.
All seniors were invited to participate in a senior advisory committee that began meeting in January. The group has met several times to review COVID-19 protocols and share opinions about what they would like to experience in their last semester at Bowling Green High School, including the two biggest events, Prom and Graduation.
McGraw says, “Our seniors overwhelmingly want the most ‘normal’ graduation possible, in the BGHS arena with their classmates. As a school and district, we will work to provide that experience while adhering to all current COVID protocols.”
Based on current capacity guidelines, each graduate will be allotted four tickets for guests to attend in person. The ceremony will also be live streamed.
Tickets will be available for graduating seniors the week of May 17, 2021.
