We are happy to announce information for the Class of 2020 Commencement Ceremonies. Bowling Green High School’s Graduation Week begins with in-person individual ceremonies, which will be scheduled Sunday, May 17th-Wednesday, May 20th.  It concludes Sunday, May 24th with a virtual commencement on the school district’s website and Facebook pages.  The virtual ceremony will include traditional graduation speeches, a recognition of graduates, conferring of diplomas, and musical performances.

The graduation stage is currently under construction and beginning Sunday, May 17th, each senior will have the opportunity to participate in a graduation experience with up to four members of their immediate family. Graduates will schedule an appointment to visit BGHS, walk down the aisle of the arena, across the graduation stage, pose for photos, and receive their diploma. 

Event Details:

  • Each graduate may invite up to four members of their immediate family, however, all must be at the door near the Guidance Office at their appointment time. 

  • Per the CDC guidelines, all graduates and guests must wear a face mask and will have their temperature checked upon entry of the school. Anyone with a temperature over 100° will not be permitted to enter. (Graduates may remove their masks for photographs in designated areas.)

  • Social distancing must be maintained at all times.

  • Graduates and their guests will be accompanied by a guide to assist with doors while walking through designated areas to avoid touching common surfaces. 

  • Students are encouraged to wear their cap and gown. The decoration of caps is allowed, as well as balloons and noisemakers (airhorns, megaphones, etc….)

  • Professional photos will be taken of the students and made available to families. 

  • Graduation recognition items (stoles, cords, etc.) have been ordered but will not be here for graduation due to factory closures. We will contact students when items arrive. 

  • A virtual commencement ceremony will be posted on the BGISD district website and Facebook page at 2 pm on Sunday, May 24th. 

Appointment Details:

  • Seven student appointments per hour will be available on the following days: 

    • Sunday, May 17th: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.

    • Monday, May 18th: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

    • Tuesday, May 19th: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

    • Wednesday, May 20th: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

  • Students will request their 1st, 2nd, & 3rd choice for appointments through THIS LINK. Additionally, the link will be re-sent via all of our communication outlets. 

  • Please only fill out the form once per graduate. 

  • The form will go live FRIDAY, MAY 1st @ 4 pm. Spots will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

  • Students will be sent a confirmation email with their specific appointment time and additional information by Friday, May 8th. 

  • All students should complete the form, even if they desire to not to participate in the graduation ceremony.
