BGISD COVID-19 Operating Procedures

BGISD Active Cases and Quarantines

Effective February 25, 2022, the CDC does not require wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs.

The Bowling Green Board of Education approved a motion to modify the district’s COVID-19 protocols on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Face masks and coverings will become optional, but recommended inside school buildings beginning Monday, January 3, 2022.

BGISD will continue to contact trace following all positive cases in schools, and require all symptomatic individuals to quarantine. COVID-19 testing is available all school days, on-site in all schools.

On December 27, 2021, the CDC updated quarantine guidance and shortened isolation for ALL positive people from 10 days to 5 days if asymptomatic or resolving symptoms, with mask wearing for 5 additional days (no fever). Graves Gilbert Clinic and the Barren River District Health Department have adopted this guidance, which BGISD will follow.

BGISD will also continue to update daily cases and contacts on the district website, and the Board of Education will review all data to make decisions regarding the health and safety of students and employees.
