BGISD Results on the 2024 Kentucky Summative Assessments Open House

Little Purples Academy

Little Purples Academy is designed in partnership with Bowling Green / Warren County Community Education to provide childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, with priority enrollment to employees and contract employees working full-time in BGISD.

Little Purples Academy will open in January 2025, located in the BGISD Vocational Center on the campus of Bowling Green High School, 1801 Rockingham Lane.

Little Purples Academy will serve a total of 66 children in the following childcare rooms:

  • Infant (6 weeks to 1 year): 10 children

  • Toddler 1 (1 to 2 years old): 12 children

  • Toddler 2 (2 to 3 years old): 20 children

  • Early Childhood (3-5 years old): 24 children

Each room will have a minimum of two adults at all times: a Lead Teacher and Assistant employed by Community Education. Plus, high school students from BGHS Early Childhood Courses may also assist throughout the center, and work as paid employees after the BGHS school day.

HOURS:

6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

Toddler and Early Childhood classrooms will be offered breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack each day.

DAYS OF OPERATION:

Dates are based on the BGISD Academic Calendar, plus two weeks prior to Opening Day and two weeks after Closing Day. The last day in Spring 2025 is June 6. LPA will be closed Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, and six weeks during the summer with no charge to families.

COST:
  • $200 per week for children under 2 years old, based on age of the child on the first day of the month.

  • $175 per week for children over 2 years old, based on age of the child on the first day of the month.

Tuition is calculated on a weekly basis, not daily, including weeks that LPA is open less than five days, such as holidays, or due to personal, or sick leave. Spring 2025 includes 22 weeks: a total of $4,400 per child for children under 2, and $3,850 for children over 2.

BGISD encourages employees to pay tuition through payroll deduction (after tax). Deductions will be made from paychecks issued January - June for amounts of $338.47 per child under 2, or $296.16 per child over 2. For families choosing not to use payroll deduction, monthly payments are due on the first of each month, January - May for a total of $880/child under 2 and $770/child over 2.
