BGISD Hires Director of Facilities
Chris Seabolt Moving from BGHS to new District Role
Chris Seabolt has been named Director of Facilities for Bowling Green Independent Schools. He will move from his role as Guidance Counselor at Bowling Green High School to the district office beginning June 1, 2025. As Director of Facilities, primary responsibilities will include overseeing facilities and grounds, directing all maintenance and custodial services, managing district renovation and construction projects, and overseeing bidding and property acquisition. Mr. Seabolt will replace Rickey Shive who is retiring later this summer.
Seabolt says, “I am honored to accept the position of Director of Facilities with the Bowling Green Independent School District. I look forward to serving our students, staff, and community to the best of my ability. I’m excited for the opportunity to work with the amazing staff that is already in place in the department.”
Seabolt has 26 of experience in education with four as a Guidance Counselor at Bowling Green High School and has served as a football coach at Bowling Green High School for 10 years. He previously worked as a teacher at Bowling Green High School, Bowling Green Junior High, & as an itinerant teacher at Dishman McGinnis, Parker Bennett Curry, Potter Gray Elementaries. He has also worked for three other local school districts.
Superintendent Gary Fields says, “Chris has been a leader in our district as a teacher, a guidance counselor and coach. He has consistently demonstrated a passion for helping all students as well as being an advocate for colleagues and someone who believes in the mission of the Bowling Green Independent School District. I am looking forward to having Chris join our district leadership team.”
Seabolt has a Bachelors of Science, a Masters degree and a Rank I from Western Kentucky University as well as an additional Masters degree from the University of the Cumberlands.
