Calvin Head Named District Athletic Director
Calvin Head has been named the new District Athletic Director for Bowling Green Independent Schools.
In this role, he will oversee athletics programs at both Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green Junior High School including Archery, Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cheer, Dance, Cross Country, Softball, E-sports, Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swim & Dive, Tennis, Track & Field, and Volleyball.
As Athletic Director, Head will schedule and monitor events and travel for teams, oversee the district athletic budget, handle team apparel licenses and purchasing, oversee all ticket sales, work to ensure compliance and athlete eligibility, oversee sports media and all streaming platforms, conduct coaching clinics, manage game-day ceremonies, and expand sponsorships within the athletic department.
Calvin Head has been a teacher at Bowling Green High School since 2017, and has completed his 8th season as the Bowling Green High School Girls Basketball Coach. He has also served as the Assistant Athletic Director and Athletic Director for Bowling Green High School.
Superintendent Gary Fields says, “Since arriving at Bowling Green High School, Calvin Head has distinguished himself in the classroom as a teacher, on the sideline as Head Coach of the Lady Purples Basketball Team, and leading the high school Athletic Department. I look forward to seeing Coach Head in this new role as he leads our 6th-12th grade athletic programs and continues the tremendous success of all of our programs.”
