Dianna Wolf Awarded Funds for New Technology
Congratulations to T. C. Cherry’s Library Media Specialist, Dianna Wolf, a recipient of a KySTE Outreach Grant. KySTE, the Kentucky Society for Technology in Education is an affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education, and committed to supporting technology in and for education. Each year, the organization funds grants for its members at a maximum of $10,000 each.
The grant project to be funded for the T. C. Cherry Library is called Adventures in Literacy: Transforming Elementary Libraries through Augmented Reality. Using new technology provided students at T. C. Cherry will soon create augmented reality book reviews, videos and experiences. Students will be both consumers and creators of Augmented Reality (AR) and will demonstrate a deeper understanding of the books they are reading. The project goes beyond the promotion of literacy and creates a new environment for students to learn and collaborate with interactive experiences.
New technology purchased through this grant will include a MacBookPro, nine iPads, three tripods, and iPad cases.
Ms. Wolf will be recognized as a grant recipient on March 15th at the KySTE Spring Conference Awards.
