7th Grade Algebra Path

Below are the Mastery Learning Targets, or priorities for all students to be successful when they advance to 8th Grade Algebra. Mastery (M) of these skills means the student has met the grade-level standard and is independently performing on grade level. Mastery takes time to develop and may take the full school year.

  • Uses proportional relationships from tables to solve problems.

  • Uses proportional relationships from graphs to solve problems.

  • Solves real world problems involving percentages.

  • Gives examples of linear equations having one solution, no solution, or infinite solutions.

  • Uses scale factor to solve problems.

  • Finds the area and circumference of circles.

  • Calculates the volume of prisms and pyramids.

  • Calculates the surface area of prisms and pyramids.

  • Calculates missing side lengths (leg or hypotenuse) of right triangles using the Pythagorean Theorem

  • Solves real-world problems using the Pythagorean Theorem

  • Compares data sets using measures of center and variability.

  • Uses probability to describe the likelihood of an event.

  • Finds probabilities of compound events.
