BGJHS Spring 2026

The Bowling Green Board of Education has approved the project application and schematic designs for an addition and renovation at Bowling Green Junior High. Planning will continue throughout the 2025-26 school year. Construction is scheduled to begin in late spring 2026.

The BGJHS project tentatively includes adding spaces for band, orchestra, choir, drama, science classrooms and labs, and a multipurpose room for technology and media. The additions are planned for construction from the existing school toward the bus loop, creating an additional hallway inside the building. These additions also allow classrooms to be repurposed in the current hallways.

The school’s front office, cafeteria, kitchen and food storage areas will be renovated and expanded. And finally, the media center and main hallways of the school will be renovated, with improvements to acoustics and the removal of lockers in the halls.

The project will be led by RossTarrant Architects, with construction management provided by Alliance Corporation.

Construction is estimated to cost $23 million and will be ongoing for 20 months.
