6th graders celebrate joining BGJHS with a Friday afternoon Pep Rally!
Sixth grade is when students from all five BGISD elementary schools come together as one Purple Family.

During the event, the BGJHS dance team performed and cheerleaders led Purple cheers. Plus, BGHS Senior Piper Boyd shared advice on getting involved and making the most of every opportunity offered. The first week full of school ended with games and lots of school spirit.

Once a Purple, Always a Purple! 💜

We are proud to announce that the Bowling Green Junior High 8th Grade Band has been selected to perform at the 2027 Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) Conference in February!

Selection to perform at the KMEA Conference is one of the highest state honors a school music program can achieve. This accomplishment reflects the talent, discipline, and dedication of our student musicians, and the support of our directors, families, and community.
Congratulations Purples!

School Bus Safety: STOP means STOP!
Drivers in both directions must stop on two- or three-lane roads, including roads with center turn lanes, and four-lane roads separated only by painted lines or paved medians.

Traffic driving the opposite direction of a school bus is exempt from stopping *only* on highways with four or more lanes that include a physical median, such as a raised concrete barrier or unpaved/grass in between lanes.

Dishman McGinnis Back to School Parade!
Thanks to everyone who came out to wave, cheer, and celebrate! Principal Lizzie Brown and the Dishman McGinnis faculty and staff had so much fun riding through the neighborhood this afternoon, before the school’s Open House. Seeing students and families was the best way to kick things off!

We hope all K-12 students and families are ready to begin school on WEDNESDAY!

BGJHS Construction: Traffic Changes!
The Bowling Green Junior High addition and renovation project started this summer and will be ongoing for the next 18 months. 🚘 DROP OFF:
Students may be dropped off in the Car Rider Line between 6:55 AM and 7:25 AM. All cars will enter from the soccer lot entrance. Traffic will flow in one direction, entering and exiting on Campbell Lane.

🚙 PICK UP:
All cars will enter from the soccer lot entrance. Students will exit the back of the school.
Afternoon buses will leave from the new temporary bus loop.

More information may be found on the district website: www.bgreen.kyschools.us/page/bgjhs-construction

🎨🖌️📚 Local artist Ashley Scott’s new mural is officially finished in the Parker-Bennett-Curry Library! With bright colors and local landmarks, it celebrates both our community and a love of reading.

The project is part of Ashley's annual “Paint It Forward” initiative, where she generously gifts one free mural to the community every year.

We are grateful for her talent and community spirit, and can’t wait for students to see it in person.
